I found a South Asian traditional dress at a yard sale (sadly being sold as a Halloween costume) and the owner had no idea what culture it was from. I've been trying to do some research to learn more about it but I haven't had any luck. It's a tie-dyed green shirt-skirt-jacket-scarf with sequins making floral patterns. The shirt is very formless and is sleeveless. The skirt is floor length. The 'jacket' is short sleeved and see through. The scarf is long and made of the same material as the jacket. Any ideas?

"Malayalam" is not a place. "Kerala" is. Malayalam is the language that the people of Kerala speak.

I like this study. It shows the diversity very well and it's fun to compare them. Plus, it shows that fair lot of research and knowledge was put to it, which is always good. :)
